C.P. Florez is a storyteller whose layered writing navigates across genres. Her experiences being woman, urban-bred, and Latina are fundamental to her work. Her storytelling is sometimes raw, sometimes fanciful—her characters, complicated,  and passionate—touchingly human. Her bilingualism informs her voice, her sentiment., her poetry, and narratives.

Her inspiration is eclectic, ranging from the writings of iconic Hispanic authors, to poets such as Neruda.
